Susan Young, CPA
Susan began her accounting career as a tax accountant with Bank of America following an internship with Scheffel & Company, PC. Susan progressed to become an estate tax accountant for Husch & Eppenberger, LLC in the new corporate offices in Clayton, MO. In 2002, she opened her first private practice location in the Glen-Ed Professional Park, Glen Carbon, IL and after a period of commercial loan specialization with First Bank, Susan moved into her new accounting office in Edwardsville, IL with a satellite connection through the People in Business network in St. Louis, MO.
Prior to becoming a licensed CPA (Certified Public Accountant) in 1999, Susan worked as an account executive and financial management consultant with major companies in Las Vegas, NV, Portsmouth, NH, and other locations.
Susan earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada after attending the Whittemore College of Business at the University of New Hampshire. She continued her academic pursuits and completed an emphasis program in accounting at Southern Illinois University in 1997. Since then, she has become a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor as well as completing continuing education in Business Ethics, Profit Planning, Valuation, Rental Real Estate, Buying and Selling Strategies, Commercial Lending, Taxation and other topics.
Susan is active in a number of professional organizations including the Chamber of Commerce, Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society, and the People in Business Network. Susan enjoys gardening in her spare time and loves to walk or play with her Golden Retriever, Cooper.
Susan's accounting firm also serves as adjunct staff to larger firms in the St. Louis area. Susan is an instructor for adult learning with Southern Illinois University and Lewis and Clark Community College.
